2021: Opening of the sixth data center for €1.4 million

The Tet company (before Lattelecom) reported on August 16, 2021 about opening already of the sixth data-processing center (DPC), having invested 1.4 million euros in construction. This data center will increase the total number of racks by 60, and will also allow the company to continue to meet the requirements of the rapidly growing ICT market.

The share of Tet in the market of data centers in Latvia is 30%, which makes the company recognizable not only in the country, but also abroad. This allowed us to achieve significant growth in terms of exports - as of August 2021, we provide two-thirds of the services to foreign customers, which include customers from Russia, "said Tet Executive Director and Chairman of the Board Uldis Tatarchuk.

Over the past 10 years, ICT has become one of the leading export industries in the world. The export turnover of Tet Group in the first six months of 2021 year increased by 46% compared to the corresponding period in 2020 year, reaching 1/5 part of the total turnover. Integrated IT solutions, including data center and cloud hosting services, are recognized as important areas of Tet export.

The first data center with 20 Tet racks was opened in 2000 in Riga. As of August 2021, 400 racks are already available in 6 Tet data centers, while 2/3 of all capacities are already occupied. According to Tet experts, business turnover will grow by an average of 15% per year.
