2021: Scaling Network Infrastructure

On August 19, 2021, the company X-Com announced that it had completed a development project network infrastructures for the National Medical Research Center. "Central Research Institute of Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation

The customer needed to increase the capacity of the LAN, thus creating the necessary conditions for connecting the client equipment. The X-Com project team conducted an audit of the existing network infrastructure in the institution and the applied software and hardware. Based on the data received, it was technical design of network infrastructure scaling has been developed and specifications of necessary equipment have been developed. To organize additional communication channels, 16 additional 48 port DSG-3120-48PC have been introduced switchboards D-Link into the institution's network.

The DGS-3120 series with Routed Image (RI) software includes Layer 3 switches that provide secure connection of end users to the network. Switches support advanced security features, making them the optimal gigabit solution for the access or aggregation layer, depending on the task being solved. The DGS-3120-24PC/48PC is equipped with 44 10/100/1000Base-T ports and 4 1000Base-T/SFP combo ports. All switch ports support 802.3af and 802.3at Power over Ethernet technology.

The contractor was selected on the basis of a tender, the participants of which were Russian network equipment suppliers and design and service companies. Along with the financial component, when considering applications, the experience of candidates in implementing projects similar in scope and complexity for medical institutions was evaluated, as well as recommendations from customers of this profile. X-Com confirmed its competence, offered the best terms of cooperation and received the right to conclude a state contract.
