2021: Completion of construction of solar power plants in the Arctic zone

On August 20, 2021, Hevel Energoservice (part of the Hevel Group of Companies) announced the completion of the construction of autonomous hybrid power plants (AGEU) in the rural settlements of Snezhnoye and Kanchalan, Anadyrsky District, Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, the first such projects in the Arctic Zone of Russia.

The total power of two ASEPs is 2,600 kW, including solar generation power - 550 kW, storage system capacity - energy 470 kW * h. Also, as part of the project, the necessary was created, the network infrastructure existing diesel generation was modernized.

ACES is controlled automatically, ensuring the most optimal mode of operation and fuel saving. Project implementation will ensure reliable, high-quality and uninterrupted power supply of two remote settlements of the region, in which about 700 people live.

The use of solar generation and storage will significantly - up to 30% - reduce fuel consumption and extend the life of diesel generators. It is expected that diesel fuel savings will amount to 2310 tons for the entire period of the energy service contract.

The construction of generation facilities began in August 2020, and exactly a year later the first solar kilowatts entered the energy network of rural settlements. For two months, the stations will operate in pilot operation mode.

Investments in the construction of AGEU in the village of Kanchalan amounted to 109.3 million rubles, in the village of Snezhnoye - 95.5 million rubles. AGEU was built as part of an energy service contract with the region at the expense of the Hevel Group of Companies. Such a financial model avoided the increase in tariffs for end-users of electricity and in the future will reduce the burden on the regional budget. The budget will be reduced by reducing the cost of purchasing diesel fuel.

AGEU using solar energy was built in accordance with the Agreement on cooperation with the Government of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug in the field of solar energy development signed by the company on May 24, 2018.

Earlier, Hevel Group of Companies has already implemented a number of such projects, hybrid solar-diesel power plants with a total capacity of 2.8 MW are successfully operating in the Republics of Altai, Tuva and the Trans-Baikal Territory. As of August 20, 2021, projects for the construction of ASES in 42 settlements in Siberia and the Far East with a total installed capacity of ASES of 83.3 MW, including on the basis of renewable energy 13.5 MW, are in different stages of implementation. The company plans to further develop this area.
