2021: Launch of the cashless tip service
Visa, YMoney and YClients launched a cashless tip service for beauty salons in Russia. Leaving a tip in the cabin is now as easy as in a taxi or restaurant. The service allows you to leave tips not only using debit cards, but also from credit or business cards without additional fees from the issuing bank. This was announced on August 24, 2021 by YMoney.
The service works according to simple mechanics: payment of services to craftsmen occurs as before - through the cash desk with a card or cash. After that, the client receives a notification with an offer to evaluate the work of the master and leave a tip in the amount of 5%, 10% or 15% of the cost of the services rendered, or independently determine the amount of remuneration. The customer selects a percentage of tips or an arbitrary amount, and then redirects to the YMoney page, from where it is possible to make a payment using, Apple Pay Google Pay or bank card details. The service fee is 5% and is charged from the amount of tips left to the employee. The point owner and the master himself are available information about which of the customers left a recommendation and tip.
The service provider can choose the most appropriate option for notifying the customer by using a SMS PUSH notification or e-mail a customer letter with reference to the response form and tip size selection, or by allowing scanning at the QR Code administrator's desk.
The joint service Visa, YMoney and YCLIENTS aims to accelerate the introduction of cashless payments in Russia in such a traditionally "cash" area as tips in beauty salons. In the future, the service is planned to be extended to gas stations, sports sections, clinics and other service enterprises. As of August 2021, the customers of YCLIENTS are 31,000 trading and service enterprises and more than 200,000 specialists. Each month, 14 million people sign up for beauty salons with YLICENTS. Such coverage will make cashless tips available to millions of customers of service companies throughout Russia.
At the piloting stage, the service was used in more than 1000 companies (as of July 2021 according to YCLIENTS), and more than 2550 masters became able to receive tips from their customers. On average, visitors leave 204 rubles of tips, and the largest tips recorded in the system for August 2021 - 3150 rubles with a total check of about 40,000 rubles.
We have been developing a cashless tip service for the past two years and see how quickly its popularity among consumers is growing, because it helps to quickly, conveniently and safely leave cashless tips using a card or smartphone. According to YCLIENTS, as of August 2021, only a third (34%) of beauty salon customers regularly leave tips and prefer to do this with cash, a little more than half (54%) are left for tea from time to time. With the launch of the cashless tip service, thousands of YCLIENTS customers will have another opportunity to thank the employees of beauty salons, leave them a tip and do it quickly, easily and comfortably using a smartphone. - noted Yuri Topunov, Head of Visa Products Department in Russia. |
Cashless tip reception is in demand both offline - for example, at beauty salons, cafes, restaurants - and on the Internet - at food and food delivery services, taxi ordering, professional search platforms. For business, the tip service is one of the additional "bricks" of fintech infrastructure, which allows you to motivate employees and increase customer loyalty. The service is implemented through the usual payment interface, and the master, in turn, instantly receives money for his YMoney electronic wallet and can immediately dispose of them, "said Oksana Korobkina, director of corporate business at YMoney. |
We plan to increase the number of connections of enterprises in various services to tips to at least 9,000. There is already a request to connect large networks of salons and sports sections to this functionality. And this figure increases monthly by an average of 10%, "said Yuri Petrov, CEO of YCLIENTS. |
