2021: Axelot WMS X5 Implementation

On September 7, 2021, Axelot announced that it had automated the warehouse of the distribution company Sharm Trading in Tbilisi.

The use of a box solution without modifications made it possible to automate all the main technological and business processes of the food warehouse in just three months.

The business is actively developing, motivating the company's management to digitalize business processes. The need for more efficient warehouse processes has led Sharm Trading to implement a high-performance WMS solution. Previously, the company had experience using WMS from a Dutch developer, but the system was not flexible, it was poorly adapted to changes in warehouse processes, and the relationship with the contractor was not easily built. Therefore, it was decided to implement another WMS that would be more appropriate to the needs of the business. After analyzing the proposed WMS systems on the market, the choice was stopped on the Axelot WMS X5, and AXELOT specialists were involved in solving the project tasks.

The pilot implementation took place at one of the Sharm Trading warehouses in Tbilisi. The warehouse area is about 2000 sq.m. As part of the project, it was necessary to optimize the warehouse, automate all key business processes, ensure the control and control of the warehouse online.

The world pandemic also played a role in the project process. Due to existing restrictions, the first stages of WMS implementation had to be implemented remotely, which required coordinated work from project teams. The launch of the automated warehouse was carried out with the personal presence of AXELOT specialists.

Within the project, all key warehouse processes are automated, including acceptance from the customs warehouse, marking labels in the Georgian language, storage period accounting, cluster selection, 100% output control.

As part of the project, the logistics of the enterprise was combined into a single loop - WMS, TMS and ERP systems were integrated using the DATAREON ESB data bus. 5 stationary and 40 mobile workplaces are automated.

The results of the pilot project fully satisfied the management of Sharm Trading, so in the future AXELOT WMS X5 will be implemented in other warehouses of the company.
