On September 23, 2021, Axelot (Axelot) announced that the Technician Case company had moved to a different level of logistics management with the Axelot WMS X5 system.

The variety of project tasks was solved by 99% with the help of out-of-the-box functionality, and the general involvement of employees helped to reach the planned indicators of warehouse operations only on the second day of industrial operation of the system.

Stagnation in business is a direct way to lag behind competitors. You need to be aware of the needs of customers, improve products and services, monitor trends and, of course, optimize business processes. This is the opinion of the management of the company "Case of Technology," the Russian manufacturer of locksmith tools. Stability of demand for products does not mean that changes are not needed, especially if it comes to warehouse logistics. Moreover, it became clear to the company's management that the warehouse needs an up-to-date automation system that will facilitate and accelerate processes, as well as free up vital resources. Having chosen the AXELOT WMS X5 system and contacting AXELOT specialists for implementation services, the management of the company "Technician" formulated the following tasks for the project:

  • Get rid of the address storage in excel plates, transfer all these processes to WMS, so that you always have up-to-date and accurate information about the location and quantity of goods in storage and assembly locations.
  • Get away from paper to speed operations and reduce errors in order to assemble orders.
  • Get tools to monitor all activities online.
  • Optimize existing processes to work as efficiently as possible.
  • Implement strict accounting of product serial numbers when goods are received and shipped.
  • Make it possible to carry out selective inventories that will not stop and even slow down the warehouse.

Especially not flexible were the processes of placing and selecting goods in cells - previously each cell was strictly tied to one product, and all accounting was carried out in the CIE and Excel file, which greatly slowed down the work and reduced the "relevance" of the information. The cells were replenished only when the storekeeper saw the need for this during the selection process, and the placement of pallets from the acceptance was carried out in arbitrary cells without analysis of optimality.

The selection was carried out "on paper," which was printed from the KIS, also on paper, followed by manual entry into the KIS, receipt, selection and shipment were monitored. The inventory was also carried out "manually."

With the implementation of AXELOT WMS X5, all internal stock control processes have been transferred to WMS. This was helped by the configured integration between the warehouse management system and the CMS, implemented using the message queuing service DATAREON MQ.

Storage bins are no longer linked to a particular item and are selected dynamically under the control of WMS logic, pallet placement is also controlled by the system. Replenishment is planned automatically after reaching the set minimum in the cell or for the need of orders. TSD has become the main tool of storekeepers, with the help of which most operations are performed - a total of 13 workplaces are automated in the warehouse with TSD.

It should be noted that the vast majority of processes were automated using the AXELOT WMS X5 box tools. The fact that warehouse employees were interested in this WMS also played a significant role in the successful completion of the project.

Due to the high qualification of the customer's employees and their strong involvement in the implementation of the project, on the second day of productive work after the start of industrial operation, it was possible to achieve planned indicators of operations in the warehouse.

The most significant result of the project, the management of the company "Technician" believes that the introduction of WMS and the transfer of control over the execution of warehouse processes to it allowed to free up resources that the company will be able to use for the further development of the warehouse.
