Before the introduction of Astra Linux software, the IT infrastructure of MIAC (the founder of the organization is the Ministry of Health of the region) was built on the basis of Windows. In favor of choosing the Astra Linux operating system, its security, reliability, usability and functionality played. In the developer's portfolio there are algorithms for automated transfer of workplaces to domestic software with the preservation of user data and settings. Specialists of Astra Linux Group of Companies have experience in implementing import-independent solutions in many Russian institutions, including the medical sector.

As a result of the work, a distributed secure virtualization environment was built for user organizations using the special-purpose operating system Astra Linux Special Edition, as well as a fleet of workplaces for more than 900 AWS. The state budgetary institution of health care of the Republic of Khakassia "Republican Medical Information and Analytical Center" in order to implement the national project "Health Care," as well as following the course on import substitution of software, in 2018 began to consider domestic OS presented on the market for use in our information system. In 2019-2021, we put into operation in medical institutions of the Republic of Khakassia more than 900 workstations running the Astra Linux Special Edition OS. For users of health information systems, the transition to a domestic OS did not cause difficulties with its development, at the same time, the maintenance of automated workplaces by technical personnel required upgrading its skills. Equipping organizations with this operating system made it possible to implement an import substitution strategy and at the same time ensure the required level of protection of confidential information. In the future, it is planned to develop the existing infrastructure of medical organizations using protected domestic operating systems, "said Yevgeny Bychkov, deputy director for information technology at GBUZ RX RMIAC.
