2021: Rostelecom launched a new data center for 207 racks in Moscow

In early October 2021, Rostelecom announced the launch of a new data center in Moscow - Nord-6. Its area is 3 thousand square meters. m, and the total capacity - 5 MW. Designed for 207 posts, the facility is located on Korovinsky highway in the north of the capital.

According to the press service of Rostelecom, the data center is built according to the Uptime Institute standard and corresponds to the level of reliability of Tier III. The company has implemented the possibility of reserving all elements of the infrastructure (energy and cold supply, telecommunications routes, fire extinguishing and monitoring systems), due to which, as stated, the uninterrupted operation of the data processing center is ensured even during scheduled work.

Rostelecom launched a new data center for 207 racks in Moscow

Customers can use the following services available at all sites of the geodistributed data center network:

  • Location of server equipment (Colocation)
  • telecom services;
  • cloud infrastructure (IaaS) and services;
  • Backup;
  • administration;
  • information security.

There is a shortage of data center capacities in the capital market, and we are striving to meet the growing demand from customers, "says Yuri Samoilov, First Deputy General Director of Rostelecom-Data Center, General Director of DataSound. - In addition to expanding the Nord site, in the near future we plan to put into operation first of all the data center level Tier IV with a total design capacity of 2 thousand racks.

The new data center opened as part of a project to develop the Nord site on Korovinsky highway. In addition to the new data center, by the beginning of October 2021 there are five data centers with a total capacity of 3764 racks.

The operation of the new site is provided by the Data Center Technology Center team, which includes Dataline and Rostelecom-Data Center data center management specialists.
