2021: Death under strange circumstances

October 17, 2021 it became known about the death of the former leader of the e-sports team of the Polytechnic University Alexei Malyshev. A 23-year-old young man was found near garages in the city of Nikolskoye (Leningrad Region).

According to Fontanka, Malyshev lay on asphalt in blood, without shoes and naked in waist. He was hospitalized with injuries, doctors could not save him. Two plastic bottles, an empty pack of cigarettes, slippers and a jacket were seized from the scene. Bruises were found on the body of the deceased in the area of ​ ​ the head and trunk.

By October 18, 2021, the Investigative Committee of the Leningrad Region is conducting a preliminary investigation in connection with the death of Alexei Malyshev. The exact cause of death of the young man has not yet been announced.

Alexey Malyshev is an e-sportsman, captain of the Polytechnic student team, which played in Dota 2, CS: GO and PUBG Mobile. In its composition, the young man became the three-time champion of the All-Russian Student League and the owner of the gold of the WCAA 2020 International University Competition in Chinese Dalian.

The press service of the Polytechnic told Fontanka that thanks to Malyshev's efforts, the e-sports direction of the university has received significant development.

We can say that he was engaged in curacy, gave some advice, while being neither an employee nor a student of the university. Alexey was an absolutely exemplary student. It must be understood that the personal life of people is a personal life, but, as far as the university knows, he did not abuse anything. He studied well, was involved in an additional area of ​ ​ activity, - told the publication at the university.

In an interview with the university press, student Alexei Malyshev said that he plans to complete his master's thesis and continue to engage in e-sports with a welder's diploma.[1]
