2021: Announcement of the complex

In October 2021, police cars appeared in Moscow with cameras that have a 360-degree view, which are built into flashing lights. The equipment records a violation of traffic rules, and will also be able to identify wanted cars in the stream.

The complex, developed by Recognition Technologies, was called AvtoUragan-MS. It includes a radar that allows you to measure the speed of moving cars. The system can work in motion and in the parking lot at -40 and + 50 degrees.

It is claimed that the camera is able to record almost all types of traffic violations. The measurement error when fixing the speed of a moving car up to 350 km/h is about 1 km/h.

The device can also identify cars with unpaid parking and check them against search bases: by October 2021, cameras can distinguish between the type of vehicle, and will soon be able to distinguish between brands and car models. Information from cameras is stored in the memory of the computer for at least 30 days. If you are connected to the Internet, the data is sent to the processing center.

According to the representative of the company "Recognition Technology" Sergey Kusov, if an attacker hijacks the car and removes registration numbers from it, the camera will still be able to determine the brand and model. That is, she will understand that it was such a vehicle that drove to a specific address at a certain point in time. The traffic police will be able to work with coordinates and fixation time: for example, you can drive the Volkswagen Polo parameter and track all such models in the controlled area, regardless of whether there is a license plate on it or not, he explained.

By October 2021, the AvtoUragan-MS complex was installed on the cars of the Center for Traffic Management (DPC) in Moscow. Autonews.ru writes that it is still unknown which of the possibilities of the complex are of interest to the institution in the first place.[1]
