2021: Creating Smart Resuscitation
The Russian developer of healthcare solutions - the company Medical Visual Systems on October 22, 2021 announced the creation of a project "smart intensive care."
It involves constant video monitoring of the patient's condition, the organization of online posts of doctors on duty, as well as a system of teleconsultations and video communication with relatives. The pilot is planned to be launched at the Tomsk Children's Hospital, the construction of which will be completed in 2022.
The Smart Intensive Care project is a continuation of smart operating rooms with video surveillance, more than a hundred of which are launched in federal, city and district hospitals in the country.
The project developers are members of the National Technology Initiative (STI) in the Helsnet direction, a resident of the Skolkovo Foundation and have grant support from the Innovation Assistance Fund (FSI).
"Smart intensive care" involves constant monitoring of the condition of patients in intensive care wards and intensive care units, explained Kirill Zaputryaev, Director of Development of MVS. We are talking about installing viewing cameras, as well as collecting data from bedside monitors and IVL devices on a single platform. The record will be kept continuously, 24/7, and stored in the archive. The archive is flexibly configured and freely expanded as desired and necessary by a particular clinic and is able to store patient information from 30 days to 5 years. This will allow you to organize an online observation post for doctors on duty, who with the help of the player will be able to switch from patient to patient.
It involves the creation of a system for monitoring the patient and staff activity, constant monitoring of the vital indicators of patients and monitoring the operation of resuscitation equipment. All data will be stored in the form prepared for analysis, including for the possibility of their further use in artificial intelligence training.
{{quote 'When we started the project three years ago with "smart operating rooms," there was a risk that doctors would be against recording. The situation has changed, everyone is already used to filming and has become loyal. Professional doctors understand the benefits of video recording, which will help them confirm the correctness of their actions, "said Kirill Zaputryaev. }}
Smart intensive care also includes a telemedicine system, with which doctors will be able to receive advice from colleagues from other clinics. The same service will make it possible to establish video communication between patients and relatives, which will help solve the gigantic problem of access to intensive care, which was aggravated by the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and the transition of hospitals to quarantine.
