In Russia, a free system of personal recommendations for cancer prevention has been launched

According to the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, in 2019, 640.4 thousand cases of malignant neoplasms were detected in Russia, which is 2.5% more than in 2018. According to January 2019, the level of five-year survival after diagnosis in the Russian Federation is 40%. One of the possible reasons is the detection of oncological diseases at stages 3 and 4 in 37.4% of cases (17.6% and 19.8%, respectively).^[1]

The creators of the project set themselves the task of developing a simple and understandable questionnaire with expert author recommendations for preventive measures that are clinically and epidemiologically justified and realistic in the conditions of Russia and, possibly, other Russian-speaking countries.

Screening is needed to detect disease at an asymptomatic stage when a person is not bothered by anything. There are 5 programs for early detection of cancer with proven effectiveness - screening for cancer of the lung, breast, prostate, cervix and intestine. We combined guidelines for screening these cancers and also took into account research into early detection of skin cancer. We involved epidemiologists and oncologists in the development of test algorithms. Together with us worked geneticists specializing in hereditary tumor syndromes and nutritionists who are aware of the link between cancer and food, explained Natalya Khilko, head of the IT project group of the Fund "Not in vain."

By registering in the system and answering all the questions of the test, a person receives a detailed list of personal recommendations. The program also gives the user comprehensive information support, for example, it will offer to include the necessary examinations and visits to the doctor in the calendar, remind the specialist of the opportunity to ask questions for free in the online reference "Just Ask" and show a selection of expert materials on oncology from "Prevention. Media. "

The company noted that the issues and recommendations were developed by a team of Russian oncologists, geneticists, epidemiologists and nutritionists, based on the principles of evidence-based medicine. This means that each recommendation in the test complies with the protocols of leading international research organizations and is scientifically sound.

It is impossible to make general recommendations that will suit everyone at the same time. It is impossible to tell everyone at the same time how to prevent cancer or how to identify it earlier, so we have developed the "Scrine" system, which provides recommendations based on history from life and risk factors.
