Ozon began to build a logistics complex in the Leningrad region for billions

On November 8, 2021, it became known about the agreement reached between Ozon and PST-Development. Under the terms of the agreement, the developer will build for the online retailer a warehouse complex with an area of ​ ​ 135 thousand square meters. m in the village of Bugra, Leningrad Region.

According to Kommersant, after the completion of construction, the logistics center will be transferred to Ozon for a long-term lease. The head of the St. Petersburg office of JLL, Andrei Amosov, called this transaction a record for the warehouse market of St. Petersburg and one of the largest outside the Moscow region. Ilya Knyazev, head of the Knight Frank St Petersburg warehouse and industrial real estate department, believes that investments in the construction of the warehouse will amount to 6.7-7 billion rubles.

Data Insight partner Fyodor Virin expects that the new warehouse will allow Ozon to process 250-300 thousand orders per day and accelerate the delivery of goods to St. Petersburg and neighboring regions. The construction of infrastructure in the regions will allow unloading warehouses in Moscow, but at the same time there are not many regions with good transport accessibility, he added.

Ozon plans to build new facilities in the Leningrad Region in the future in order to expand the range and speed of delivery. According to the representative of the retailer, the expansion of infrastructure will give residents of St. Petersburg and the north-west of the country a wider choice of goods, and entrepreneurs working on the platform will have additional opportunities for growth.

By the beginning of November 2021, Ozon already has a large fullfilm center with an area of ​ ​ 52 thousand square meters. m, by the end of 2021 another stage of this facility will be commissioned in the Sofiyskaya Ring Road park. The company plans to open other facilities in the Leningrad Region, an object in the village of Bugry is one of these options.^[1]
