Project Tasks
The purpose of the project was to increase the efficiency of the enterprise by automating the BIM design processes at all stages: from laser 3D scanning during engineering, geodetic and survey work to the development of an information model of a digital twin and an operational model of the object.
At that time, the Polaris Navigator system was used for the project data archive, which ceased to meet new industry requirements. There is a need to replace the system with a more modern one, providing that all accumulated data is transferred to the new storage.
Project Progress
To achieve this goal, Glavtelecom was involved, which proposed to use the Vitro-CAD project data management system.
The Vitro-CAD implementation project began in January 2019 according to the following plan:
- Stage 1. Survey of the automation facility and development of a technical project containing the initial information and work plan for the implementation of the project "Implementation of the electronic technical document management system."
- The first phase analyzed automated business processes, existing IT infrastructure, and enterprise software. Based on the survey data, a Technical Project was developed.
- Stage 2. Deployment and initial configuration of components of the Vitro-CAD system.
- Stage 3. Organization of document and data storage. Migrate data from Polaris Navigator to Vitro-CAD, including:
- Development of migration software.
- Transfer documents and attribute data (attributes of file cards and folders) to active projects.
- Transfer of documents and data for archival projects.
- Stage 4. Implementation of design processes using standard Vitro-CAD tools.
- Stage 5. Pilot operation of the system, including:
- Training users to work with the system (administrators, GIPs, designers and other user roles);
- Elimination of found shortcomings;
- Document Development (User's Guide and Administrator's Guide)
- Licensing of required number of jobs.
- Stage 6. Description and protection of solution architecture, acceptance testing, system commissioning industrial.
Project Phase Results:
- Agreed and approved document "Technical project and project implementation plan by stages."
- The Vitro-CAD components have been configured and a document has been prepared describing the solution settings.
- A data transfer protocol has been prepared. Software tools for data migration have been developed. Documents and attribute data are transferred according to the approved storage structure.
- Regulations for automated design processes have been developed. You have set up workflows according to the procedures. Custom instructions have been prepared.
- User training was carried out, the pilot operation log was filled in.
- Acceptance tests were carried out, an order for the commissioning of the Vitro-CAD system was signed.
Project Results
The implementation project was completed in February 2020.
The introduction of the Vitro-CAD system allowed Belorusneft-Neftekhimproekt State Enterprise to automate the processes of coordination and design of industrial and civil facilities using BIM technologies from the stage of engineering-geodetic and survey work to the development of the operational model of the facility.
