We are working on options for online elections. They cannot be without the decision of the Verkhovna Rada. We are working on this issue with the best companies... Without unnecessary spoilers, these are Microsoft and Apple, the Ukrainian leader said.

According to him, online voting does not cancel ordinary elections - citizens will still be able to come to polling stations and throw ballots at the ballot boxes. At the same time, Zelensky did not announce the timing of the project.

The involvement of Apple and Microsoft in the work on online voting in Ukraine became known shortly before the Ministry of Digital Transformation of the country signed a memorandum of understanding with Apple, in the framework of which the parties agreed to conduct an all-Ukrainian census of the population together.

I am proud that Ukraine will become the second country in the world to conduct a census in cooperation with Apple... Digitalization is an unconditional priority of our state, "wrote Vladimir Zelensky on his Twitter blog on November 30, 2021.

Under the terms of the agreement, the Ministry of Digital Affairs of Ukraine and Apple will ensure the exchange of information and support of the ministry on a number of initiatives. In particular, the company will cooperate with the department in the framework of the All-Ukrainian population census in 2023. Apple will also provide support to the Ministry of Digital Affairs in developing and identifying priority projects related to Ukraine's transition to paperless mode, and improving the experience of citizens' interaction with state authorities. In addition, the company will cooperate with the Ministry of Digital Affairs to increase the digital literacy of Ukrainians.[1]
