Recult is a Russian rail platform that helps people sell unnecessary clothes. The seller transfers things to the warehouse and receives money from the sale to a bank card. The customer gets the opportunity to purchase new or almost new clothes at a discount of up to 90%, as in a regular online store. The work on creating bulletin boards, photographing clothes, sending parcels and answering customer questions is taken over by platform employees.

The startup guarantees to buyers that all goods before sale are rated for quality according to 10 parameters. Customers using the Recult service can return inappropriate things within two weeks. Products are delivered throughout Russia.

History

2021: Attracting Investment

In early December 2021, it became known about investing in Recult. The Venture Fund of the Samara Region and a group of business angels invested in the startup. The fund received 8.77% of the company. Financial and other parameters of the transaction are not disclosed.

According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Resale Culture LLC (legal entity of the service) was formed in June 2021. The founder of the platform Svetlana Brinza owns 100% of the company.

According to the service's own data, which were published in early December 2021, 36% of sellers who came to Recult never sold their clothes before. The rest, according to the company, have unsuccessful sales experience on open bulletin boards. A third of girls who buy clothes at Recult buy clothes for the first time in their lives in the secondary market.

Recult estimated the market for the sale of used clothes in Russia at 101 billion rubles at the end of 2020, which is 20% more than a year ago. By 2025, as predicted in the startup, growth will be 185%. And the global secondary clothing market by this time will reach $64 billion.
