2021: Development of a single marketplace for space services and data
Sitronics Group and its Sputnix company announced on December 7, 2021 that they were developing a single marketplace of services to provide geographic information solutions based on the analysis of Earth remote sensing data.
The universal geoservice platform will allow a group of companies to place spatial data from satellites on it, and consumers - to work with information through a common interface on the Internet, using ready-made tools in the format of statistical reports.
Sitronics Group plans to upload data to the marketplace both from any commercially available satellite systems and from its own small spacecraft. As our own groups come into operation, it is planned to replace or supplement foreign data with Russian ones.
Sputnix develops and manufactures small spacecraft up to 300 kg and satellite subsystems, has competencies in their launch and control in orbit. As of December 2021, its own spacecraft constellation flight control center is operating. Under control in orbit are 5 small satellites. In the future, the company plans to increase them to several dozen. Reception of data from satellites in VHF band is performed to own ground station.
"The goal of the Sitronics Group is to move from a delivery model, when ready-made satellites and platforms are sold, data is transferred and archived, to a service model for providing space data to customers. To do this, a marketplace is created where customers can receive the necessary information. A large percentage of satellite data for our country is purchased from foreign suppliers. The strategic task of the Sitronics Group is to replace foreign space data with Russian data both for users of the business segment and for the state. They are also important for the development of waterways, including the Northern Sea Route, and such environmentally important projects as carbon neutrality, "said Alexey Katkov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sitronics Group, Managing Partner of Sistema. |
"With satellite development and marketplace, we can provide a lot of data. For example, nano-devices of the cubesat format based on the satellite platform OrbiCraft-Pro can be involved in the exchange of data for the operation of automatic identification systems in shipping and civil aviation. Such devices will also be able to provide data transfer for telemetry from stationary, mobile objects and IoT systems. It is important to solve the problems of eco-monitoring with the provision of situational information about greenhouse gases, deforestation and fires, "said Sitronics Group President Nikolai Pozhidaev. |
The company is also developing the Zorkiy medium-resolution Earth remote sensing satellite on the OrbiCraft-Pro platform, as well as the Kinostrutnik submetre-resolution camera device and the AtomSat radar satellite based on the Pallada universal satellite platform being developed. The devices are planned to be used for natural resource monitoring, monitoring of infrastructure projects, to ensure navigation along the Northern Sea Route and for other important state tasks.
