Biography

Alexey Borisovich Katkov was born in Moscow on October 22, 1977. He graduated from the Academy of National Economy under the Government of the Russian Federation, in 2008 he passed the Executive MBA program at Harvard Business School.

After university, Alexei worked for several years as an assistant sales manager at a French company.

In 2000, he joined Mail.Ru Group as an account manager, already in 2002 he became the head of the sales department.

In 2007, Alexey headed the entire commercial block of the holding in the role of commercial director and vice president, after which for eight years he was responsible for increasing the company's turnover and finding new sources of income.

In 2012, Katkov also became Director of International Development, and in 2013, under his leadership, Mail.Ru Group opened an office in the United States to promote My.com products - the company's international projects.

In April 2015, after 15 years of work, Alexei left the holding. In the fall of the same year, it became known that he was appointed first vice president for operations of Sistema Mass Media OJSC, a subsidiary of AFK Sistema. On the basis of SMM, it was planned to create a venture fund of the corporation for investments in Internet assets.

In April 2016, the fund began working under the Sistema Venture Capital (Sistema_VC) brand, Alexey became its president.

As of June 2019, he is chairman of the board of directors of Sitronics.

As of November 2021, he also acts as the managing partner of AFK Sistema.

Hobbies

Alexey Katkov is fond of badminton and is a candidate for master of sports.
