2021: Service Launch

In December 2021, Sber launched a service to lend money to friends. It was called "Debt" and is available to customers of a credit institution in the Sberbank Online system.

According to the press service of "Sber," to use the service, you need to go to Dialogues and choose a chat with the person who plans to transfer money, click on "+" and choose a new category "Give in debt." You must then specify the amount and return date. After the transfer, the recipient will receive a push notification, and in the chat it will be possible to track the repayment of debt.

When the date of the refund approaches, the debtor will receive a push notification with a reminder that in a few days it will be necessary to repay the debt. The user makes all the calculations completely independently  -   the application does not debit money from the account, but only delicately reminds the person that it would be time to repay the debt.  

According to the developers of the service, it will help customers build comfortable relations with those who borrow money. The user will no longer need to remind acquaintances and friends who and how much he owes - this will be done by notifications from SberBank Online.

We turned out a service that helps not to forget about the loan amount. In addition to reminders, the correspondence itself on the issue of transferred money is simplified, it becomes much easier to lend someone the necessary amount, and repay the debt on time, "said Alexey Kruglov, vice president, director of the Digital Platform division of Sberbank.

Earlier in 2021, Sber began to provide short-term loans to its salary clients - money in the amount of 1 thousand to 30 thousand rubles can be received for a month. You can also use the Money to Salary service in the Sberbank Online application in the lending sections on the home screen or My Privileges in your profile.^[1]
