2021: OmniCore E10 и V250XT
On December 20, 2021, ABB announced that it had added two models to the OmniCore controller line. The E10 and V250XT controllers, available for a number of robots from the ABB portfolio, offer motion control, as well as 20 percent energy savings and compliance through digital communications and more than 1000 additional features, thereby helping to adapt production processes to changing demands. Two controllers expand the capabilities of robot control in various industries, from electronics assembly to automotive, logistics and general production.
According to the company, both controllers offer increased scalability due to the availability of more than 1000 hardware and software functions covering such areas as programming, commissioning and modeling in offline mode, maintenance, visual control and security. With the built-in option to connect to the ABB Ability Connected Services for Robots Cloud Service Suite, controllers offer other capabilities to optimize performance through proactive maintenance and lifecycle management.
ABB also presents its open automation software IoT Gateway for OmniCore. IoT Gateway allows you to achieve coordinated production, ensuring unhindered transfer of data from the production plant, from machine to machine (M2M), from robots to other machines, from robots to sensors, to the MES/ERP system or to the cloud.
Existence of technologies of traffic control of TrueMove and QuickMove from ABB in both controllers provides appropriate time of a cycle, speed, repeatability of situation and accuracy of a trajectory. This allows ABB robots to work up to 25% faster than their predecessors.
With its compact 19-inch rack-mount design, the E10 is suitable for limited spaces and production lines with adequate density, where space saving is a key requirement, such as assembly of small parts and handling in the electronics industry. The E10 controller is designed to power SCARA robots and ABB hinge robots with a payload of up to 11 kg, such as the IRB 920T and IRB 1300.
The V250XT OmniCore controller, designed to work with hinged robots with a payload of up to 300 kg, such as the IRB 6700, is a universal solution for use in the production of electric vehicles, automotive industry, logistics and the general industry.
The OmniCore E10 and V250XT use up to 20% less power than ABB's previous IRC5 controllers through energy-efficient energy recovery and braking energy recovery technology, enabling manufacturers to reduce their energy costs and optimize energy efficiency while contributing to overall reductions in energy consumption.
Both controllers are used with the portable controller console FlexPendant from ABB. The large 8-inch multi-touch display supports standard gestures such as compression, smacking and touch, which optimizes robot programming. FlexPendant supports hot swap, so you can disconnect or reconnect it without stopping the production process. This allows you to use one console FlexPendant for several robots at once, accelerating the introduction of robots and minimizing costs.
The release of the E10 and V250XT controllers is the next step in the ABB OmniCore line. 14 robots will now be enabled by optimizing power and flexibility. All OmniCore controllers are based on the ABB RobotWare operating system. The line of OmniCore controllers will be expanded into the entire ABB robot portfolio, and more applications will appear in 2022.
