2021: Pilot Testing
In Moscow, a pilot testing of a rehabilitation complex for the treatment of children was completed. This was announced on December 17, 2021 by the DIT of Moscow.
This rehabilitation complex of extracorporeal magnetic stimulation for the rehabilitation of children with pelvic disorders was successfully tested in Moscow Scientific and Practical Center for Medical and Social Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons named after L.I. Shvetsova Department of Labour and Social Protection - one of the rehabilitation institutions of the capital, where more than 100 innovative effective rehabilitation methods for children and adults with impaired movement function are used annually. Pilot tests were carried out together with the Innovation Laboratory of the city's Information Technology Department. Moscow
Extracorporeal magnetic stimulation technologies can help children with correcting pelvic dysfunction. Compared to traditional methods of hardware physiotherapy, stimulation with electromagnetic pulses is a safer method in children's practice. The technology eliminates unpleasant painful sensations from the procedure and is characterized by no side effects.
{{quote 'Magnetic stimulation technology with the help of an innovative apparatus is used in addition to the main rehabilitation programs for children with pelvic pathology. The procedure does not require special training, it does not contain any invasive intervention. During therapy, the child sits in a comfortable chair, does business familiar to himself, magnetic exposure does not cause any unpleasant sensations. Such technology helps to eliminate the existing symptoms of the disease more quickly, improves the effectiveness of rehabilitation measures, and improves the quality of life of the child and his family. The L.I. Shvetsova Center already has equipment that works on the principle of magnetic stimulation, which is successfully used in the course rehabilitation of adult patients, "said Alexey Volodin, deputy head of the capital's Department of Labor and Social Protection of the Population. }}
The search for high-tech and painless methods of treating and restoring children with pelvic disorders is an urgent problem in rehabilitation. The use of the extracorporeal magnetic stimulation (EMC) complex is an alternative to the traditional electrical stimulation method, however, in comparison with it, EMC is a painless method that is characterized by good tolerability, which is extremely important in the treatment of small patients.
{{quote 'The development of technologies in rehabilitation, including the search for new methods of treating children, is an unconditional priority of the city. This medical complex is equipped with a touch-screen screen with an intuitive interface, which allows you to set the necessary parameters of the procedure and start a session in just a few touches, and specialized software allows the doctor to control the process of therapy, select individual intensity of exposure and track the results of child recovery, "said Dmitry Derelyak, deputy head of the Moscow Department of Information Technology. }}
The rehabilitation complex is a specialized chair, in the seat of which there is a magnetic inductor, as well as a control unit and a tablet with a pre-installed software system for control. All received data during treatment are automatically transferred to the personal office of the attending physician. The basis of therapeutic action is magnetic stimulation of the neuromuscular apparatus of the pelvic floor and pelvic organs. The device sends discrete pulses that affect nerve fibers and stimulate contraction of pelvic floor muscles and pelvic organs with subsequent relaxation. They are trained, blood supply is improved, trophic processes are normalized. In one session, multiple contractions of the pelvic floor muscles occur, which is impossible to achieve when doing special gymnastics.
The results of the pilot launch of this solution showed the promising use of technology in children with violations of pelvic organs. In 42 of the 45 patients involved in testing, clinical improvement was achieved. And the effectiveness of comprehensive rehabilitation using EMC compared with the use of traditional methods for correcting pelvic disorders increased by more than 40%
In the future, this rehabilitation complex can be introduced in other hospitals and medical centers of the capital. The use of such technologies in rehabilitation practice will make the recovery process for people with disabilities more effective and comfortable.
