Project date: 2021/05  - 2021/11

2021: Opening of industrial landfill

An industrial training ground with the infrastructure of fifth-generation (5G) communication networks has opened in Moscow. It was deployed on the basis of the Botkin hospital. This was announced on December 22, 2021 by the Department of Information Technologies of Moscow (DIT). Here will be piloted breakthrough digital technologies and services in the field of health care. In the future, applied research, testing of prototypes and prototypes of innovative medical solutions and services operating on the basis of the 5G network are planned on the basis of the landfill . Startups are invited to test developments in practice on the basis of the fifth generation of communications.

We are pleased to announce that the first 5G landfill in Russia has been launched on the basis of the Botkin Hospital. The main quality of fifth-generation networks - the speed of collecting, processing and transmitting large amounts of data - will allow you to pilot innovative medical services of a new level. Botkin Hospital was not chosen by chance. This is one of the most advanced and equipped institutions of Moscow health care. Navigation systems, high-precision neurosurgical microscopes, 3D modeling technologies in traumatology and orthopedics, artificial intelligence in endoscopy are used here, Da Vinci robot surgeon is used daily. Thus, Botkin Hospital is one of the flagships of urban health care. We are interested in the possibilities of using augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) technologies in surgery, ensuring the quick transfer of voluminous files obtained during instrumental research between organizations and other areas that can improve the quality of medical care in the capital, "said Anastasia Rakova, deputy mayor of the capital for social development .

The creation of 5G industrial landfills is provided for in an agreement on cooperation for the development of 5G networks in the capital, which was signed in June by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and Rostelecom President Mikhail Oseevsky.

{{quote '5G infrastructure is deployed in the millimeter range - the most suitable for use in highly loaded locations. This allows you to achieve ultra-high throughput - up to 4 Gb/s per user or device, as well as low data delay. This opens up a wide range of possibilities for using fifth-generation communication networks in medicine, where speed and signal quality are especially important. An example of 5G-based solutions can be round-the-clock patient monitoring, real-time remote consultations and new methods for training medical personnel, including using virtual and augmented reality technologies, "explained the Minister of Government of Moscow, head of the Information Technology Department Eduard Lysenko. }}

As part of the project, the Moscow Center for Innovative Technologies in Healthcare is engaged in the search, selection and testing of medical services, Rostelecom, together with its subsidiary Tele2, is the operator of the 5G digital infrastructure, the S.P. Botkin State Design Bureau provides its own clinical infrastructure for testing and research. The Moscow Department of Information Technology contributes to all stages of the project.

Together with the doctors of the Botkin Hospital for December 2021, the most promising projects are selected, which need 5G capabilities for work.
