2022: E-Neva Electric Car Presentation

In mid-July 2022, the Almaz-Antey aerospace defense concern held a public presentation of the full-featured version of the E-Neva electric crossover developed by the Obukhov plant.

It is assumed that the modular chassis will serve as the basis for a whole line of cars and commercial vehicles with electric and serial hybrid power plants. An experienced five-door 4.5-meter crossover should receive a 435-horsepower twin-engine power plant, a battery with a capacity of up to 90 kilowatt-hours, and an estimated range of up to 463 kilometers.

In mid-July 2022, the preliminary parameters of the hybrid versions of E-Neva also became known. The basic hybrid with a gas engine will be able to travel without refueling 1000 km. And the more advanced rechargeable hybrid will have a 70kWh battery and can travel up to 810km. The acceleration time to 100 km/h is declared at 8.5 s, the maximum speed is 180 km/h.

The Almaz-Antey concern conducts work on the E-Neva electric car completely at its own expense. At the same time, this is a 100% state association, including 60 enterprises developing and producing air defense systems. The timing of the electric car shown on the market by mid-July 2022 is still not announced. According to unconfirmed reports, this will happen in 2024. Moreover, in the first year of production alone, as previously reported, it is planned to produce about 25 thousand cars.

Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Denis Manturov on July 16, 2022 visited the Nizhny Novgorod plant of the 70th anniversary of Victory, which is part of the Almaz-Antey concern. In the video published by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, you can see how the minister gets behind the wheel of an electric crossover, makes a turn and gives back.[1]

2021: Electric car announcement

In December 2021, the Almaz-Antey arms concern (100% owned by the state) presented its own electric car, called E-Neva. We are talking about a crossover 4.5 m long, which can accelerate to 197 km and drive 463 km without recharging. Acceleration from 0 to 60 km/h is declared at 2.7 s, torque - 824 nm.

The interior of the electric car has a multimedia system, including a digital dashboard, a projection display on the windshield and a 15-inch touchscreen. The trunk volume is 610 liters. Driver assistance systems and integration with a smartphone are provided. The car will be created with different versions of propulsion systems, including a hybrid based on natural gas or hydrogen.

E-Neva

As specified in the press service, in December 2021, the Obukhov plant (part of the Almaz-Antey concern) registered with Rospatent an industrial model of the SUV class electric car, and 7 more industrial models of nodal elements of the interior and exterior of the electric car, such as the central console, multifunctional steering wheel, instrument panel, interior of the front and rear doors, etc.

The publication wrote about the details of this project in September 2021 RBC , citing its sources. According to them, the car is planned in two trim levels: the first is a gas car with power transmission, which can drive more than 1,000 km at one gas station, the second is an electric gas car with a 52-liter gas fuel system and a 70 kW battery, which will provide a range of 810 km and the ability to recharge from the power grid.

Alexander Vedrov, deputy general director for production and technological policy at Almaz-Anthea, then said that the first example of an electric car was on the move.[2]
