On December 27, 2021 DA IT Company, system integratoromsky area and one of key partners of Astra Linux Group, together with an IT  departamentomomskogo of the State Medical University (OMGMU) completed the next stage of the transfer of an infrastrukturyvuz to import-independent software solutions. OMMU became one of the first medical higher educational institutions in the region to begin implementing the order of the Government of the Russian Federation regarding the replacement of foreign software with domestic software. As of December 27, 2021, 300 automated workplaces (AWS), which are used to manage the activities of the organization and in the process of training students, have already been transferred to OCAstra Linux. Work is underway to install the domestic package office applications "MyOffice Standard" on these AWS. The results of the migration to the import-independent software stack were the standardization of user AWS and an increase in the level of information security, and in addition, the university received tools for workplace administration, which increased the maturity of its IT infrastructure. The next stage of the project is planned for the upcoming 2022 and implies the transfer to Astra Linux OS and other imported non-volatile software of another 200 ARM, which will allow the university to achieve the planned import substitution indicators by 2023 .

The transition to Russian software solutions is one of the stages of the long-term IT strategy of OMMU. A systematic approach to the implementation of the project made import substitution comfortable for users and preserved the continuity of work processes. So that IT specialists and other university employees can more effectively use all the features and capabilities of the implemented products, they will be trained to work with Russian software at the authorized training center Astra Linux based on DA IT Company.

"The issue of import substitution is critical for universities, as there were already situations when universities were faced with the inability to purchase proprietary imported software. The transition to domestic solutions allows educational organizations to ensure the proper level of protection of data and IT systems, as well as to form a generation of administrators and users who know how to use Russian solutions in their work, "

commented by Anton Bugretsov, commercial director of Astra Linux Group of Companies.

"Digital transformation is necessary for the development of any organization, and the transition to topical Russian software products allows us not only to get rid of various, including sanctions, risks, but also to ensure a high degree of IT security and the continuity of educational, scientific and organizational activities of OMMU. Of course, the university uses various specific software for research and training students, and there is a lot of work to be done to select alternative programs or implement the integration of existing ones, but I am sure this issue will be resolved, which confirms the use of Astra Linux in education and medicine, and the experience of migrating to this platform, accumulated by the system integrator and developer, "-

notes Alexander Gorbushin, head of IT OMMU.
