Technologically, Smart Donbass is a software and hardware complex with various services for residents and the municipality. The platform includes 26 modules, which include urban management units, smart housing and communal services, innovations for the urban environment, smart transport, etc. From January 2022, the system will be available to all users.

The solution is implemented on the basis of an integrated digital platform developed by RIE. This is a 100% Russian product that takes into account the requirements for information security and import substitution.

A number of modules of the Smart City system are aimed at improving the efficiency of the housing and communal services sector. At this stage of the project, five schools in the city implemented programs to optimize the use of communal resources, which are further planned for replication to all municipal institutions. Schools are equipped with smart meters. In three schools, it is possible to adjust the heating schedule, automatically adjust the temperature in the building depending on the temperature on the street, and during holidays and for weekends, put it in "economical mode."

In the city Lyceum No. 24, access control and video surveillance systems were also launched. Data on the number of students and staff flock to the personal account of authorized employees, this will allow you to monitor non-standard situations and coordinate actions in case of force majeure.

In the city, at 20 public transport stops, information panels appeared, as well as a video surveillance system for container sites, which allows you to monitor their condition and garbage collection schedule (video cameras are installed at five container sites). The platform visually shows confirmation that the garbage was taken. This equipment can monitor the filling capacity of garbage cans, record cases if, for example, construction garbage will be loaded into containers for household waste. In addition, the system provides an archive and video analytics to record smoke and fire.
