Integration of monitoring systems and management in Baltika brewery

The Digital Design company completed the unique project on integration of six management systems for the IT infrastructures components with a monitoring system based on Microsoft System Center Operations Manager and service Service Desk in Baltika brewery.

Creation of uniform access point to information on an IT infrastructure status was a project objective. Besides, it was required to provide existence in the up-to-date information automated by service dispatching (Service Desk) about the IT infrastructures components and the related incidents. As a result of project implementation the IT service of Baltika brewery received the tool allowing to collect the consolidated information on an IT infrastructure status in one point and providing the timely notification responsible about incidents and failure handling control.

Karpenko Dmitry, head of department of support of the systems of regional divisions of JSC Baltika Brewery: "At Baltika, as at the largest Russian brewery with a set of the plants, sales platforms and divisions, very difficult IT infrastructure. As a result, we have the whole set of management systems for its different elements. For more effective work we needed to consolidate data from all these systems for the operational notification of IT personnel on the arising problems and control of their elimination".

Romanov Dmitry, director of the department of infrastructure solutions, Digital Design: "The uniqueness of the project is that in it the "umbrella" structure of a monitoring system of IT infrastructure was implemented: information on a status of objects of monitoring comes to MS SCOM directly from devices or from other management systems, is consolidated, and then in the form of incidents is transferred to Service Desk. For integration of MS SCOM and HP Service Desk with other monitoring systems own developments of engineers of Digital Design were used".

This project allowed to connect about 200 objects to a single system of monitoring is HP servers, components of a system of antivirus protection, uninterruptible power supply units, conditioning systems, network printers, data transmission channels, etc.

This project became the winner of competition of Microsoft Partnership Awards 2009 in Central and Eastern Europe in 2009 in the nomination Advanced Infrastructure Solutions, Systems Management Partner of the Year.
