2022: Create a PdmE3Sync module for seamless integration of E3.series with PDM systems

On January 10, 2022, POINT, a distributor of E3.series solutions in Russia, introduced its own development - the PdmE3Sync module - which helps organize seamless integration of E3.series with the PDM system of the enterprise and provide a full life cycle for the development of electrical projects.

Purpose of the module

The PDM system is a single engineering information environment of the enterprise, in which files engineering projects are created and stored, their different versions and releases, the relevance data and prevention of errors related to their loss are guaranteed, competent collaboration of specialists is organized. In addition, PDM allows you to use project data not only for those who are directly involved in the development, but also for other departments of the company.

The main function of the PDM system is to store up-to-date project documents, including from E3.series, their versions, releases and history of maintenance. For such processing to become possible, it is necessary to ensure full synchronization databases of E3.series and PDM-system by attributes using PdmE3Sync. And if the product being developed includes mechanical, hydraulic and other design parts, - synchronization with 2D and 3D models of components. It is important to note that you need to link database elements only when you are configuring them first. After that, the module itself will track the changes and update their values.

• maintaining up-to-date databases of two systems through automated checks, updating data in manual or automatic mode;

• Timely informing project participants about changes in the list of items through auto-visits by email;
• Quickly export product specifications and E3.series design data to PDM, including all related documents
• easy configuration of the module interface for specific company tasks.

Development of PdmE3Sync

The module is already fully ready to work with popular PDM systems: IPS and Autodesk Vault. The development of PdmE3Sync for the IPS system was carried out jointly with Intermech specialists. The functionality of the solution will develop, new features and settings will appear. And in the near future, owners of other PDM systems will be able to gain seamless integration with the E3.series electrical projects under development.
