On January 19, 2022, Garmin introduced the Epix premium watch (Gen 2).

Premium Epix smartwatches offer an AMOLED display with sapphire glass, a titanium rim around the dial and up to 16 hours of battery life. You can stay connected thanks to plug-in functions and synchronization with gadgets. The model supports contactless platezhigarmin Pay and a possibility of storage of music. The watch will help the owner better understand his body using the functions of round-the-clock observation of health parameters and sports uniforms, a pulse oximeter, a pulsometer, breathing rate tracking, etc. More than 30 sports applications are built into the clock, including the Garmin Coach training plan monitoring program. The model supports loading TopoActive maps. Sapphire Editions models already include pre-loaded topographic maps.

In the hours, additional types of training are implemented. Class profile with different timers to track high-intensity interval workouts, including AMRAP, EMOM, Tabata, and custom workouts. The model provides the ability to specify the number of repeats, load and rest intervals, and so on. In addition, the model offers the so-called virtual competition forecast. Based on previous runs and the overall level of physical form, this function allows the user to predict the pace at a given distance. Trend data show how workouts affect outcome over time.

Sapphire Edition models offer increased accuracy, which was previously available only in military equipment. The use of multiple frequencies navigation satellites improves the accuracy of coordinate calculation where GNSS signals are reflected, have low power or do not penetrate. For skiers, pre-loaded SkiView maps are offered: right in the clock you can view the names and difficulty levels of the tracks at more than 2,000 ski resorts around the world.

You can use buttons in any environment to control the clock, or a touch screen that provides quick access to card options and features.
