2022: Patent Receipt

GS Labs Research and Development Center (as part of the GS Group holding) on January 24, 2022 registered with the Federal Intellectual Property Service (Rospatent) its invention "Two-tuner receiver of a satellite broadcasting system and a way to choose its mode of operation."

development relates to dual-tuner receiving equipment of a digital satellite broadcasting system. GS Labs specialists have made a number of hardware and software improvements that make it possible to significantly improve the consumer qualities of this type of equipment.

Existing dual-tuner satellite receivers on the market, as a rule, have a number of disadvantages related to the peculiarities of their connection: limitation of functionality, complexity of tuning, the need to use additional equipment for translating a satellite broadcast signal to a second subscriber unit. The invention of GS Labs allows you to maximize the potential of a dual-tuner receiver connected by only one antenna cable, and get additional benefits: the ability to connect the receiver-client, independent streaming to the second TV/device, background recording of content within the PVR functionality, background support of system processes, etc.

The special configuration of tuners and the arrangement of the method of their connection ensures the operation without additional external devices and costs from the user. At the same time, the quality of the signal due to its hardware amplification increases. The solution provides automatic detection of the number of cables connected, which greatly facilitates the configuration of the set-top box and further work with it.
