The Japanese industrial robot Kawasaki is called upon to help in this. Norilsk became the northern point of Russia, where robotic welding was introduced.

The robot is accurate, it can perform any kind of welding and cutting, including laser. Thanks to automation, the welding process has become safer and greener.

The design consists of three robots, two welders and a positioner.

The positioner separates work areas robot and people for safety and protects the operator from blind welding sparks. The two sloping tables rotate in a horizontal plane and allow you to rotate the part in a convenient position, which increases productivity and speed and improves the quality of the seam. The effect of using a robot is an increase in performance by about three times.

"The program is set automatically. To write it, you don't need a special programmer. It is enough either a welder or a person who already has experience with machines with numerical program control, plasma, laser. After you have once prescribed an algorithm of actions, you start a repeat, and the robot cooks time and time again, " said Alexander Nazalanov, engineer of FAM-Robotics (the official integrator of industrial robots Kawasaki in Russia)

With the advent of the robot, the welder's workflow has become safer and more environmentally friendly. The technician controls the mechanism at a distance, and the robot is automatically turned off when a stranger enters the work area.^[1]
