Endress + Hauser devices made it possible to establish a water treatment system for the production of Sputnik V in a short time. This was announced on February 1, 2022 by Endress + Hauser.

A year ago, the manufacturer of water treatment equipment BWT chose Endress + Hauser to participate in an important social project. For the production of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine, it was necessary to organize the uninterrupted operation of a multi-stage water treatment system for purified water in the Technopolice Moscow special economic zone. The designed clean media system with a capacity of up to 10 thousand liters per hour would allow the production of up to 10 million doses of vaccine per month.

The short terms of the project dictated the involvement of only reliable and proven suppliers of components in this work. The high social responsibility of Endress + Hauser, as well as the coordinated and involved work of its employees, made it possible to make an accelerated supply of instrumentation for this project. As a result, the production of the Sputnik V vaccine was launched at the beginning of 2021.

Endress + Hauser analytical equipment is involved at each stage of water treatment: the devices provide reliable measurement of parameters such as pH, ORP and conductivity during the production, storage and distribution of water.

Endress + Hauser equipment has a number of special features. Thus, conductometers provide a highly accurate measurement of conductivity even at low values ​ ​ (for example, the permeate quality of a two-stage reverse osmosis is in the range of 0.3-0.7 μS/cm). Memosens technology through galvanic isolation prevents errors in measurements. And pre-calibration of the equipment allows quick replacement of pH sensors, which minimizes the downtime of measuring points and optimizes their maintenance.
