2023: Dental Synthesis Solid Biocompatible Titanium Implant Registration

On March 16, 2023, NS Technologiya informed Zdrav.Expert about the registration of Dental Synthesis dental implant made of durable biocompatible titanium. According to the company, the product can replace imported analogues. The start of serial production of products is scheduled for March 2023. In particular, in the near future, the National Assembly of Technology expects to supply 150 thousand implants to 300 polyclinics in 12 regions of Russia.

A dental implant made of nanotitan has been created in Russia, withstanding a pressure of 1200 kg

As the company emphasized, the strength of nanotitane is 20% higher than analogues from pure titanium and alloys - it can withstand a pressure of 1200 kg. The material was developed by Russian scientists. A nanotitan bar is made from it, which, in turn, is necessary to create implants.

"Dental Synthesis products meet international standards. The production site in Chelyabinsk has all the necessary certificates. The company's goal is to occupy 10% of the domestic market. Also, the plans are to obtain registration certificates for implants for the markets of Belarus and India, "said representatives of the National Assembly of Technology.

According to them, the Dental Synthesis implant is versatile in use and fits all types of bone. Due to the geometry and strength, as well as the smoothness of the transition from the neck of the implant to the main body, it is possible to avoid fractures and reduce the amount of material for minimally invasive operations.

According to Dmitry Gorbunov, Managing Partner of NS Technologies, the dental implant developed by the company as of March 2023 "has no analogues in terms of functionality, accuracy and strength." At the same time, the product is suitable for any category of patients.

"Surface versatility (SLA) and compatibility with imported counterparts will allow physicians to seamlessly transition to our implant system. I am sure it will be in demand in medical institutions and will help patients, "the top manager added.

For her part, Elena Fadeeva, project manager of the Skolkovo Foundation's biomedical technology cluster, added that the implants of the NS Technologies company are domestic products "from development to the full production cycle." At the same time, production has been certified according to world standards, and the products have already passed the necessary tests and are allowed for clinical use, including in the countries of the European Union.

2022: Production begins

In March 2022, dental implants began to be produced in Chelyabinsk, which are half the price of Western analogues. We are talking about the products of Dental Synthesis.

According to its director Vasily Dyuryagin, the production of several types of implants from two types of titanium was mastered: pure unalloyed Grade 4 and the so-called nanotitane - Ufa know-how. The latter has a tensile strength of up to 1100-1200 MPa and a higher ductility. Initially, Ufa residents supplied a titanium rod for American companies, then a domestic manufacturer found use for it.

In Chelyabinsk, began to produce dental implants, which are 2 times cheaper than Western analogues

The production of Chelyabinsk implants is divided into two stages. Titanium rod from Ufa is first processed in the company "Biomechanics." Here, on automated turning and milling machines, blanks are made for the implant, as well as for other parts of dental prosthetics: individual abutments, titanium bases, gum formers.

After that, the implant blanks are sent to Dental Synthesis, where the surface is finished, packed and sent to Moscow for sterilization in ethylene oxide medium. Then the implants are returned to Chelyabinsk and sent to customers throughout Russia.

According to Dental Synthesis estimates, the volume of the Russian dental implant market is about 1.2 million units per year. The company estimates its share in this market at 0.6% (about 7 thousand manufactured products). At the same time, the Chelyabinsk manufacturer is ready to produce up to 50 thousand implants annually by March 2022.

Dentistry may be the most progressive of the medical industries, but the market is very conservative with regard to implants, "explains Vasily Dyuryagin. - Dentists work with those manufacturers to which they are accustomed, and we are often perceived with hostility, do not even want to talk.[1]
