On March 31, 2022, GreenMDC, a Russian manufacturer of modular data centers, announced that it had developed and implemented the World Data Centre CUBiC at the Regional Navigation and Information Center (RNIC) of the Saratov Region, which serves photo and video recording systems for traffic violations. The solution was implemented "turnkey" in just 3 months, is characterized by high mobility and consists mainly of domestic engineering equipment.

The development and delivery of a modular data processing center CUBiC 6-70 of the company GreenMDC was carried out as part of the introduction of an intelligent transport system (ITS) in the Saratov city agglomeration, which will automate traffic management processes in the city and the region. The implementation of specialized software and installation of ITS server capacities is carried out by the NPO "Intelligent Technical Systems."

The World Data Centre installation will ensure uninterrupted operation of RNIC computing equipment, which is part of the automated adaptive traffic light control, weather surveillance, photo and video recording of traffic violations and weight control systems, including mobile complexes. The Saratov RNIC will have the opportunity to remotely monitor traffic flow, dispatch traffic lights and detect violations. In addition, the project provides for physical protection of IT equipment and the use of security systems.

Thanks to the World Data Centre, the productivity of engineering equipment will significantly increase. In particular, the efficiency of the air conditioning system will increase through the use of isolated corridors.

"One of the main requirements of the customer was the high mobility of the future World Data Centre. We have created a solution that is easy to relocate to another site, while the time and cost of preparation for transportation will be minimal. Another feature of the World Data Centre for the Saratov RNITZ was the maximum use of Russian engineering equipment. So, fire protection systems, access control and cooling systems, as well as server racks, power distribution units and SCS were supplied by domestic manufacturers. This could be a key advantage of the data center and ensure its repairability, durability and reduce operating costs, " commented by Mikhail Shumai, Director of Business Development of the company GreenMDC

The customer needed to install a high availability World Data Centre to accommodate 6 server racks and a 70 kW computing load. World Data Centre CUBiC 6-70 for RNIC in Saratov was implemented on the basis of a spatial metal structure protected from the outside by a metal sheet 2.5 mm thick. The inner sarcophagus is made of factory-made sandwich panels, which provide the necessary heat insulation and fire resistance. As part of the solution, two rooms are organized - the entrance tambour and the autoroute. The system redundancy scheme is applied: N + 1 air conditioning, 2N power supply. Precision Vaibos air conditioners (Russia) are used to cool computing equipment.
