2022: Representation of temperature stabilization method of measuring sensors
On April 15, 2022, the Russian Space Systems Holding (RKS, part of the Roscosmos State Corporation) said that its experts had proposed a method of temperature stabilization of measuring sensors, which are used in the control and control systems of domestic rocket and aircraft engines, in the fuel tanks of spacecraft. The technology patented by the engineers of the Research Institute of Physical Measurements (NIIFI, a company of the RKS holding company) relates to technical measuring tools based on the so-called strain gauges, which are made using thin films.
During the operation of thin-film pressure sensors in control and monitoring systems, indicators appear that distort information about the actual pressure in areas critical for reliability and safety of engines and other units. In other words, when the strain gauge is pressurized, its structure is heated and the pressure data is changed. Thin films protect the strain gauge from overheating and failure. Thus, the development increases the temperature stability of resistors in the sensors of the devices, which allows to extend their life.
"The multi-layer thin film structure allows to create a strain circuit with increased temperature stability in the range from cryogenic temperatures to + 250 ° C. Development significantly increases the noise immunity and guaranteed sensitivity of the entire pressure measurement system, "- says the chief technologist of NIIFI Ivan Gubich. |
