JSC "Scientific Research Institute of Physical Measurements" (NIIFI, part of the Russian Space Systems holding) is an enterprise for the development and production of sensor-converter equipment, measurement, diagnostic, control systems for rocket and space technology.

Areas of activity

NIIFI specializes in the manufacture of measuring equipment for various purposes. Among them are sets of sensor-converter equipment for the program EnergySnow-storm"-," the rocket engine of RD-180 the company "" and NGO Energomash a number of other the Russian and international projects (Proton, Soyuz, Angara,), International Space Station as well as for equipping launch systems Russia in and abroad. In addition, the company produces unified sensor-converter equipment and systems for modernized and created aircraft, gas turbine engines,,. nuclear power plants agriculture

The main activities for April, 2022 - development, production and delivery of sensors of absolute, excessive, differential, fast-variable, acoustic pressures, sensors of forces, deformations, torques, linear and angular movements, accelerations, frequencies of rotation, temperature and other parameters, the normalizing converters, the systems of measurement, diagnostics, control, management and emergency protection for the missile and space equipment and starting land constructions.

RCC diversifies subsidiaries

Russian Space Systems Holding (RKS, part of ROSCOSMOS State Corporation) JSC Research Institute of Physical Measurements (NIIFI) as part of the holding's strategy to diversify production and develop new, non-space markets, is reforming the management system. Business process changes in the enterprise are designed to improve decision-making and customer flexibility.

At the end of 2019, NIIFI audited all internal processes of the company: from accepting orders for R&D, supply, procurement procedures and inventory management to the production and sale of finished products. Based on the audit results, a phased business process optimization plan was developed and changes were made in the organizational structure of the enterprise: entry and exit points for each of the key business processes were determined, responsibility for the final result was redistributed, and key management performance indicators were introduced.

The changes made make it possible to significantly reduce the costs and time of fulfillment of orders, review approaches to pricing, increase employee motivation and operational efficiency of the company as a whole.

Products and Services

As of June 2020, NIIFI is one of the leaders in the development and production of sensor-converter equipment for the needs of the rocket and space industry. In the face of declining funding for a number of projects, in particular those related to the suspension of the production of engines for the Proton-M launch vehicle and its phased decommissioning, the company faced a sharp reduction in orders in the space market. In this regard, along with the restructuring and optimization of personnel as part of diversification, the company is developing other markets. So, one of the ways out was the successful use of a number of NIIFI developments in civil aviation and the nuclear industry.

The company's specialists are engaged in the creation of intelligent high-temperature pressure and vibration sensors for promising aircraft engines, vibration monitoring and diagnostics systems for rotating equipment of nuclear power plants, thermometry and level control systems for granaries of the floor and silo types and other works.

Due to technological effectiveness, reliability and high metrological characteristics, NIIFI products have a number of competitive advantages. To increase the efficiency of working with customers in a wide civilian market, the company has been conducting a large-scale management reform since the end of last year. It is expected that the transformation will allow the company to move away from the traditional rigid orientation to work in the framework of technological cooperation with other enterprises in the space industry and stimulate further diversification.

2013

For October, 2013 JSC NIIFI - the head enterprise of Federal Space Agency Enters (Roskosmos), specializing in development and delivery for the missile and space equipment and starting land constructions of sensors of physical quantities, the normalizing converters, the systems of measurement, diagnostics, control, management and emergency protection. The Institute was founded in Penza in 1960 as a branch of TsNIIMash to solve the problems of space exploration, create new measuring means and, first of all, new sensors to provide television measurements at all stages of the development and operation of rocket technology.
