2022: Platform Launch Plan

On April 29, 2022, the National Research University "Higher School of Economics" (HSE) and VK announced strategic cooperation in the field of online learning. In partnership, the parties plan to launch a platform of educational courses of leading Russian universities.

NIU HSE will act as the flagship partner of this educational platform, which is created on the basis of technologies (Skillbox part of the VK ecosystem). In the future, other Russian universities may join in cooperation. The HSE will provide access to Russian-language English-speaking and online courses of the university with the ability to subscribe and receive certificates.

The partnership implies that about 100 online courses will be available to students.

The Higher School of Economics was one of the first Russian universities to begin the development of online education. And we want to increase the availability of quality education for all users, regardless of their location or profession. We see great opportunities for the development of this market, and that is why we initiated a strategic partnership with VK and the Skillbox platform. It is important for Russia to ensure technological sovereignty in the field of online education, and this is one of the first steps in this direction, "said Nikita Anisimov, rector of the Higher School of Economics.

Educational content of leading Russian universities is in demand by people of various ages and professions from all regions of Russia. The key task of the project is to provide maximum opportunities for training and advanced training due to the synergy of technologies and the best educational methods with the involvement of leading teachers in the country, "said Vladimir Kiriyenko, General Director of VK.

We are pleased that the Higher School of Economics, whose educational programs are a recognized standard of quality in the field of higher education, will become a partner of the project. VK, in turn, will ensure the availability and efficiency of programs thanks to technological solutions and special digital services.

In the future, the educational platform is supposed to enter the markets of the CIS, Latin America and Southeast Asia. The launch of the platform is scheduled for June 2022.
