As RBC writes with reference to public procurement materials, by May 2022, most of the working processes of the Ministry of Economic Development are served by disparate IT systems, which threatens to duplicate functionality and "chaotic integration" of data in them. The creation of "Economics" will unify the information base of the ministry and "ensure promising planning," the terms of reference says.

The structure of the information platform, according to the documents, will consist of several subsystems with different functionality and purpose:

• "Pulse of industry" subsystem. She will be engaged in an operational analysis of the state of the sectors of the economy;
• the Digital Library subsystem will store information and analytical materials developed by employees of the Ministry of Economic Development;
• The Analytics and Modeling subsystem will be designed for scenario modeling, forecasting and multivariate data analysis;
• The subsystem "State Support for Innovation Activities" will analyze data on technological entrepreneurs who have received state support and the effectiveness of state policy in the field of innovation.

The head of Digital Development CSR Alexander Malakhov told RBC that the key goal of Economics should be to streamline data within a single space.

First of all, it is a system for improving the efficiency of internal activities, and not for publishing data for a wide range of people, "he explained.[1]

An open competition for the creation of IP was posted on the public procurement website on April 15, 2022. Applications are accepted until May 4, the results will be summed up on May 16.

When creating GIS, the requirements for the predominant use of domestic software will be taken into account. The system will be created in several stages, the cost of the following was not specified in the ministry.
