2022: Optimizing Big Data with a Neural Network

Scientists at the Perm Polytechnic optimized big data using a neural network. This was announced by PNIPU on May 18, 2022. The development will make it possible to more optimally manage intersectoral and interregional relations, all this will contribute to increasing strategic initiatives and the effectiveness of the activities of oil and gas companies, and increase the attractiveness of the region for business.

The leaders of economic development are regions with developed cluster-network interactions, which are based on three basic principles: sustainability, proportionality and balance. To assess and predict the economic activity of the region, a neural network model was created, the results of which, on average, did not deviate from real data by more than 1.15%.

The training of the neural network was carried out by various methods: the method of reverse propagation of error, the method of elastic reverse propagation, the method of Levenberg-Marquardt. Optimization of the neural network structure - selection of the optimal number of hidden neurons and activation functions, carried out manually,
shared graduate student of the Department of Applied Mathematics Leonid Kozhemyakin.

More than forty regions of Russia have been studied by a mathematical model. It was revealed that the Perm Territory can become a driver for the development of cluster-network connections, since great potential has been accumulated here. This is one of the few regions of Russia and the only one in the Volga Federal District that has combined the entire oil and gas vertical: from geological exploration to the sale of petroleum products, from the development of innovative technologies and products to their implementation and broadcast to other regions,
reported by Associate Professor of the Department of Economics and Finance Maria Osipova.

According to scientists, to improve the socio-economic indicators of the region, it is necessary to redistribute the subsequent processing of production products to the regions nearby or on the logistics path, which will make the clusters more complete and thereby increase the efficiency of the area by inflowing new labor and investing in various projects.
