From 1995 to 1999 worked as a teacher of physical education at school No. 312 in Moscow.

2022: Appointment of the head of the Ministry of Emergencies

On May 25, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree appointing Alexander Kurenkov as the new Minister of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Disaster Management. He headed the Ministry of Emergencies instead of Yevgeny Zinichev, who tragically died near Norilsk. The position of acting head of the department was held by First Deputy Alexander Chupriyan.

According to Kommersant, citing a source in Kremlin circles, Putin did not accidentally decide to nominate Alexander Kurenkov as Minister of Emergency Situations.
