Federal State Budgetary Health Institution "Blood Center of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency" (FSBUZ Blood Center of the FMBA of Russia) implemented a static code analyzer Solar appScreener to check the used software for vulnerabilities and undeclared capabilities. The main mission of the FMBA Blood Center of Russia is the uninterrupted provision of medical organizations with components of donated blood. Among the most important areas of activity are the development of progressive forms and methods of organizing the blood service, the introduction of the latest technologies for the production and use of blood components in practical health care. On the basis of the "Blood Center of the FMBA of Russia" there is an information center, whose specialists monitor the unified information space of the Russian blood service, receive and process information coming from the regions. In this regard, the built information security processes are one of the priorities of the organization. Analysis of the program code of both native and third-party software is an integral part of these processes.

The security of information systems and with software which we work directly affects the health and safety of people, - said the Andrei Fisher head of the IT department of the FSBUZ Blood Center of the FMBA of Russia. - Digitalization in health care has allowed us to make more convenient and faster work, which is related to blood quality control, exchange information with medical institutions, storage of personal data donors, etc. But at the same time, cyber risks appeared, including those related to vulnerabilities in the software that we use. Solar appScreener allows us to quickly analyze code and quickly eliminate potential threats.

The IT service of the FMBA Blood Center of Russia opted for Solar appScreen thanks to the support of a large number of programming languages ​ ​ - there are 36 of them at the end of May 2022. In addition, the RTK-Solar solution can conduct binary analysis, which allows you to search for vulnerabilities in software whose source code is not available. The analyzer supports 9 executable file formats.

In such an important area as health care, it is necessary to minimize any risks. In conditions when the uninterrupted operation of organizations depends on information systems, this also applies to readiness for cyber threats, - said Daniil Chernov, director of the Solar appScreen Center of RTK-Solar. - Software code analysis is one of the most important elements of information security. When a large array of highly sensitive information is processed in information systems, this aspect cannot be ignored.
