Completion of Tractorodetal warehouse automation

As reported, in addition to the automation of the main ones, the tasks of the business processes logistics project included minimizing the transfer at the warehouse, establishing the correct operation of the shipment, and, most importantly, ensuring the transparency of warehouse operations and avoiding paper flow. Before the start of the project, all accounting in the warehouse was carried out using paper technology.

The total number of pallets in the warehouse is more than 4,500, the number of SKUs is 20,000 . Storage features - front wide-passage, shelf, floor, mezzanine.

EME.WMS 5.0 from EME was chosen as the automation solution.

During the project on the implementation of EME.WMS in the warehouse of the company "Tractordetal":

  • The warehouse was zoned by shipping directions. The topology is reflected in EME.WMS.
  • Acceptance of "Transit" type is implemented. When an item arrives for specific orders or movements, a cargo item is immediately formed for shipment and placement in the expedition zone in the direction corresponding to the order or movement.
  • Cross-docking is implemented. EME.WMS organizes the acceptance of the pallet as a cargo item indiscriminately and automates the sending of cargo items to destinations, adding cargo items to transportation.
  • Assembly by shipping directions is provided. The collected orders are placed in the expedition area according to the shipping directions.
  • The priority of the selection of orders has been implemented. In the warehouse, you can pick up the goods by pickup. Upon receipt of such an order, it is given maximum priority to reduce the waiting time for the order to be issued in the warehouse.
  • Improvements have been implemented to read barcodes of different formats from a large number of suppliers. Each TractorDetal supplier has its own individual barcode formats. To start working in the system, EME specialists have improved the mobile application for reading and processing all available barcode formats. For vendors, the warehouse will determine the barcode requirements already in the system so that no additional modifications are necessary.
  • Work with a product requiring mandatory marking in the Fair Sign GIS. The warehouse contains goods (clothing and tires) that are subject to mandatory labeling. EME.WMS implemented a mechanism for tracking and controlling marking codes at the input and output, and transmitting data to 1C.

The system was launched within two weeks in two stages. During the first stage, system testing was organized, adjustments were made and personnel training was organized. The second stage is the launch of the warehouse, support of the launch, assistance to personnel in work.

As a result of the project:

  • All warehouse processes are run under EME.WMS using shipping documentation. The warehouse operates using digital technology.
  • Errors in the assembly and shipping of orders and transfers are minimized.
  • Almost completely eliminated dependence on the human factor during placement, optimized efficiency of storage space use.
  • The optimal logic of the movement of goods in the warehouse has been built.
  • Work was organized with a product requiring labeling in the Honest Sign GIS.
  • Integration with 1C was carried out through the EME Connect integration portal.
  • Warehouse employees have been trained in a week and are fully self-employed at EME.WMS.

EME provides round-the-clock technical support for the system.

Warehouse employees and management are pleased with the results of the EME.WMS implementation and the work of EME specialists. Cooperation between the companies continues. The next step is the deployment of EME.WMS in the rest of the company's warehouses and the connection to a multifilial work scheme.
