2022: Introduction of Axelot TOS

The First dry port terminal logistics center has implemented AXELOT TOS to control the operation of the container terminal. Axelot (Axelot) announced this on June 8, 2022.

The development of international trade routes is a state-level priority for many countries. Effective management of commodity flow in general and the operation of individual nodes of the logistics chain is almost impossible to implement without the use of specialized software solutions.

It was this point of view that the management of FIRST DRY PORT TERMINAL adhered to, for which AXELOT specialists implemented a project to automate the control of a container terminal based on the AXELOT TOS solution.

The dry port area, which is 22 hectares as of June 2022, equipped with 9 railway tracks with a total length of 5,300 m, adjoins the Sergeli station, where large-tonnage containers (CPC) are loaded and unloaded, repaired and stored. The territory of the container terminal is divided into 4 container and 1 cargo sites, their total capacity is 2700 TEU. Each site is equipped with all necessary storage and auxiliary equipment.

However, all these capabilities and resources were not used effectively enough. The terminal areas were not used rationally, without logic in the location in the absence of address storage. The order of shipment was not planned and not observed, due to the chaotic process, the shipment time was increased. The AXELOT TOS system helped to adjust this.

The company management expects from the project:

  • increase the efficiency of use of areas, equipment, personnel;
  • increase the speed and accuracy of operations;
  • Reduce storage costs
  • ensuring linearity of processes;
  • improving the efficiency of handling cargo traffic.

All this, ultimately, should become a key competitive quality of the company.

During the project, the processes of planning and performing the acceptance and shipment of containers, goods and vehicles ([cars (global market)|cars]] and railway platforms) were automated. A toolkit has been implemented for performing container and vehicle inspection operations in the AXELOT TOS mobile client when:

  • arrival at the terminal (including without planned data on receipts)
  • customs clearance
  • mill/mill
  • Terminal departures

Also noteworthy is the way the system was prepared for commissioning. The inventory balances were entered without stopping the operation of the terminal, in parallel with the shipments and receipts of containers. The data on receipts and recalculations from the sites were collected and, using the processor, entered into the system.

AXELOT TOS manages all the processes of moving containers at the terminal, which streamlined its work into a slender, clearly working and much more efficient system. After automation, all processes are executed in strict order and in accordance with the established time frame. Complete information on arriving and descending containers is collected. Areas, machinery and human resources are used optimally. The level of service provided by the terminal has grown. The management of FIRST DRY PORT TERMINAL LLC has received new opportunities and resources in order not to slow down the pace of development of its company.
