2022: Equipment with multimedia complex

On June 10, 2022, the Beltel company announced that it had equipped the Mayakovsky Library with a multimedia complex.

The multimedia complex includes nine Ultra Stretch and OLED displays from LG located in different areas of the library. The screens display various useful information for residents of the city, library reference information, as well as navigation messages that help readers navigate the building of the former monastery courtyard. Library employees independently manage content using a special interface. The supplied panels allow you to display any content formats. The complex also includes specialized interactive tables for libraries with built-in touch displays from the Russian manufacturer NexTouch.

Multimedia equipment not only helps visitors get the information they need, but also organically complements the design of the library.

Extensive book holdings, convenient location and functionality of the space, in particular the presence of a co-working space and conference rooms for holding events attracts many visitors to Mayakovka.

For many citizens, libraries are associated with worn-out space, where there are old racks with shabby and dusty books. As for the libraries of St. Petersburg, this is far from the case. Our libraries are spaces where the user gets access not only to book funds, but also to various electronic resources, Wi-Fi, media and art spaces, "says Sergey Kuchumov, Deputy Director for Information Technology of the V.V. Mayakovsky Central City Public Library.

Sergei Kuchumov also added that Mayakovka sets the main directions for the development of libraries, focusing on building a single integrated library infrastructure and self-service of users. In order for the user to come to the libraries, you need to comprehensively equip them, forming a convenient pastime environment, providing them with many different services, including using the latest technologies. It is difficult for many to imagine the level of automation that has been achieved, it is better to see it by visiting the branch on Fontanka 44. At Fontanka 44, a Video Content Control Center has been created and operates, through which various video and media content are communicated to visitors using various display means. In the future, it is planned to connect other city libraries to this system, in fact, creating a unified system for managing video content of libraries already on the scale of a subject of the Russian Federation.

We are pleased to observe and contribute to the development of libraries that attract an increasing stream of readers of various ages and interests. Although the main thing in the library is and always will be books, technology helps to effectively complement and expand the capabilities of the library. The Mayakovsky Library is one of the flagships of the industry, generating development vectors not only for its own sites, but also for other Russian libraries, and Beltel is pleased with the opportunity to technologically participate in this process, "said Konstantin Gerasimov, head of libraries and cultural objects at Beltel.
