In July 2022, the largest turkey producer in Russia, Damate, announced the opening of the country's first robotic warehouse for ultra-old products. More than 110 million rubles were invested in a joint project with Smart Dynamics.
According to the press service of Damate, a new generation logistics solution was introduced in Penza at the Penzaholod warehouse (the group bought this enterprise in May 2020). The warehouse is intended for storage and shipment to customers of lamb meat, duck, turkey and deep processing products "Damate," sold in the Penza region. The functionality of the warehouse allows you to select products for retail orders both individually and boxed, the manufacturer claims.
As stated in Damat, the introduction of robots into the warehouse management system allows you to optimize the use of space and improve warehouse inventory management, eliminate errors due to the influence of the human factor, which in turn increases warehouse performance - the number of completed tasks per order per hour.
The warehouse has mono-platforms and shelving platforms for placing goods, the height of which allows the robot to freely pass and turn under it. Each platform has a QR code, which helps the robot find the necessary rack.
Another solution is to design the warehouse topology using QR codes that are oriented to the cardinal directions for navigating robots. Markings are applied to the floor for the robot, a workstation is installed in the room, which is an important part of the robot store and the only place where people are present. Using the station, the employee monitors the correctness of orders for suppliers, takes the products brought by the robot for each order, and forms it finally. There are eight robots in the room, which are capable of transporting up to 600 kg, and two robots capable of transporting up to 1 ton of products.[1]
