Rosstat transferred communications to the Russian VKS platform TrueConf

2022: Moving to TrueConf Enterprise Platform

Rosstat has deployed the domestic TrueConf Enterprise platform in its IT infrastructure, which has become one of the elements of the organization's structure management system. TrueConf (Trukonf) announced this on July 14, 2022. The platform serves for safe collaboration and holding group online meetings with connection of management offices, meeting rooms, workplaces of employees and SIP telephony subscribers of the Russian telephone node.

In 2020, Rosstat, like others, state structures countries faced the threat COVID-19 and need to reduce personal contacts between employees. Given the epidemiological situation and the importance of maintaining a continuous workflow, Rosstat specialists decided to establish safe remote interaction between subordinate structures, as well as provide employees with secure tools for remote work and conduct an unlimited number of online meetings.

TrueConf Enterprise, a Russian software VKS platform that serves to launch an autonomous federal-scale video cloud with support for up to 1 million subscribers, was deployed in the data processing center by Rosstat specialists.

To participate in video conferences, Rosstat employees use PCs, laptops, tablets and smartphones, as well as specialized VKS terminals in meeting rooms. The TrueConf Enterprise system was also integrated with the IT services and SIP telephony of Rosstat on the basis of the Russian telephone node, which allows you to quickly connect employees who are not able to speak on the VKS to conferences.

Using this VKS platform, employees of Rosstat and subordinate structures launch both conferences scheduled in the calendar and quick online meetings directly from the address book, which you can connect to via the link. For full interaction in remote mode, a messenger with corporate and personal chats built into the platform is used, as well as collaboration tools: file exchange, demonstration of screens, documents and presentations, conference recording and desktop management. As of July 2022, more than 1000 subscribers were connected to the organization's VKS platform.

The TrueConf Enterprise video cloud is protected from sanctions and blocking by foreign providers and IT companies, and corporate data is stored in the Rosstat data center and is not transmitted to servers outside Russia. This guarantees employees constant access to the VKS service and protects corporate data from unauthorized access. As of July 2022, from 30 to 50 video conferences and working video calls of the organization are held monthly on the TrueConf platform.
