Task

Transfer the site from a self-written system to a 1C-Bitrix platform solution, ensure fault tolerance and bring the resource in line with modern requirements.

Decisions

The company serves more than 3 million customers annually. It is necessary that the site works smoothly and copes with a large flow of users. Also for modern customers, a responsive interface and a set of tools that allow you to quickly close the task are important.

The customer's old site had difficulty handling the 30,000-item catalog. The new one works smoothly even with more data (with 60,000 tests).

The functionality of the site includes:

  • Smart and fault-tolerant search using the Elasticsearch engine. The user spends seconds to find the necessary product. The engine can be scaled into multiple servers, and indexing takes place in real time.
  • A thoughtful filtering system. The order of filters in the category can be changed, showing filters significant for the group above the rest. The collection of statistics on the use of filters is organized. All values are sorted alphabetically.
  • Geo-dependent catalog. Now it is easy to sell the same positions at different prices in different regions, taking into account their presence in a particular city, as well as apply various statuses (novelty, sale) to them, which are also geocomponent.
  • Product cards with upsell prompts. This helps the client buy everything at once, and the company to increase the average order check on the site.
  • Bonus balance on club cards in real-time mode (including offline and online orders). With the bonus bill, you can partially pay for the order. The function is implemented using the 1C-Bitrix internal account mechanism.
  • Marketing tools. The online store provides the user with comprehensive information about existing online and offline promotions in a particular region, the buyer can choose and purchase a promotional product with a discount or special conditions.

Result

Just 3.5 months after the start of work, the customer received a new site that meets the high requirements of modern E-commerce.

As a result of the project, there are 39,000 product items in the catalog, and the number is constantly increasing. The site also overcame peak loads of 30,000 visitors per day and confirmed the declared level of fault tolerance.
