Rosatom began importing software at nuclear power plants

Customers: Kursk Nuclear Power Plant

Contractors: Rosatom
Product: Multi-D Unified Time Schedule

Project date: 2022/07

At the end of July 2022, it became known about the process of import substitution of software at nuclear power plants started by Rosatom. According to Vedomosti, the state corporation has started developing information modeling technologies (TIM). We are talking about a platform solution that is used in the design and life cycle management of complex engineering objects.

By the end of July 2022, the Rosatom created software was already used during the creation of the Kurskaya AES-2, which is planned to be commissioned in 2025, one of the interlocutors told the newspaper. According to him, the platform Multi-D includes both Rosatom's own developments and integrated solutions from other domestic vendors, including Renga (SP "and), Ascona 1C JSC ("SiSoft Development" part of)," "(part SiSoft Group of Companies of the GC" Neolant"). LANIT The state corporation itself is finalizing such solutions taking into account industry specifics, the source explains.

The finished solution should take into account the design aspects of the nuclear power plant, he argues. - This is a resource-intensive task. For comparison: if 30 specialists are engaged in the design of an average plant, then NPP - 7000.

The design of nuclear power plants is accompanied by complex calculations and increased safety requirements, the analysis of which is provided by supercomputers, added the source of Vedomosti. It is also necessary to take into account the complex IT architecture: complexes of different systems should be integrated with each other and built into a common ecosystem, an expert close to Rosatom clarified to Vedomosti.

In May 2022, Rosatom announced that it was planned to complete the replacement of imported engineering data management systems by the end of 2023. About 95% of foreign software will be replaced by domestic analogues by 2025. The most distant prospect - three years - concerns the transition to a completely import-independent enterprise management system (ERP).[1]
