Wildberries, Ozon and Yandex.Market began to exchange information about sellers of counterfeit products. This solution will prevent possible cases of sales of illegal goods and reduce their distribution in the Russian Internet segment. This was announced by the Association of Internet Trade Companies (AKIT) on August 9, 2022.

The IP includes data on cases of placement of counterfeit goods, information about the seller of such goods, as well as information from documents confirming the violation. All Internet retailers will be able to connect to the IP.

A marketplace that detects counterfeit - independently, after contacting the copyright holder (involves checking documents), the consumer (involves checking documents) or government agencies - blocks such offers on its resource. Information about this is uploaded to the information system to check the presence of such offers and such sellers at other sites so that they can exercise due diligence, and, if the data match, request documents from the seller, if they are absent or unreliable, block the offer.

Wildberries, Ozon Yandex and Market implemented this solution on the AKIT site as part of self-regulation: industries to increase the level of trust in - and Internetto trade guarantee the safety of purchases for the widest audience of consumers.

The companies, together with the FAS Russia, also plan to develop a mechanism for suspending the activities of suppliers seen in the placement of offers for the sale of counterfeit goods and the procedure for restoring their activities. If the presence of counterfeits is confirmed, the seller's activities on the site are suspended for three months, in case of repeated violation, this supplier may be denied the placement of product offers at all sites of the country connected to the IP.

Full access to the unified information system will be provided at the request of state authorities for control and supervisory measures.
