Moscow continuously develops pharmaceutical industry and works on the creation of new drugs, tests, as well as equipment necessary for the treatment and diagnosis of various diseases. Thus, one of the residents of Technopolice Moscow has developed innovative test systems for detecting the antigen of the monkey smallpox virus in laboratory conditions by a special method, as well as rapid tests for determining both the virus itself and antibodies to infection. The products are in the stage of readiness for clinical trials and further registration, - said Vladislav Ovchinsky.

The author of the development is Imbian Lab. She created three test systems. The first diagnoses diseases by enzyme-linked immunoassay in laboratory conditions in 40 minutes, the second - will reveal the antigen of the monkey smallpox virus in the early stages of infection in 15-20 minutes, the third - will show the presence of IgM and IgG antibodies, that is, the body's immune response to the dangerous virus also within 15-20 minutes. In addition, all devices are able to detect smallpox, cow smallpox and vaccinia. Serum, plasma or whole blood will be used as the test sample.

We managed to develop test systems capable of detecting monkey smallpox virus, as well as antibodies to infection, on time. The innovation will make it possible to bring to a qualitatively different level the diagnosis and prevention of a dangerous viral infection and will fill the need for Russian diagnostic systems, which is growing against the background of foreign suppliers leaving the market, "said Veronika Osipova, General Director of the Imbian Lab development company.

According to her, these tests have a high level of sensitivity and specificity at the level of advanced laboratory ELISA and PCR systems.
