2023: Kaspersky Lab increased its stake in ForPeople to 87.2%

Kaspersky Lab increased its stake in ForPeople to 87.2%. The corresponding entry appeared in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (Unified State Register of Legal Entities) on September 14, 2023.

According to Interfax, citing data from this register, Kaspersky Group of Companies LLC became the owner of 83.2% of Fopiplus LLC, and Kaspersky Lab JSC received another 4%. The remaining 12.8% was retained by Mikhail Gurenkov. Kaspersky Lab confirmed the increase in its stake in ForPeople and explained the deal as follows:

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed by mid-September 2023. The agency recalls that at first Kaspersky Lab bought 49% of Fopipl LLC, and in August 2023 increased its share in the developer of HR systems to 55%. This company is the developer of the GP OrgManager solution - a platform that provides digitalization of organizational management and is the basis for human capital management, the company's website says. Its products are included in the register of domestic software.

2022: Kaspersky Lab bought 49% ForPeople

On September 6, 2022, the sale of 49% of ForPeople to Kaspersky Lab was announced. The company did not disclose the financial and other parameters of the transaction.

It is only known that Kaspersky Lab bought a stake from the founders of the startup Anastasia Panasyuk and Mikhail Gurenkov. Before the transaction, they owned shares of 57.6 and 38.4%, respectively. After the transaction, Panasyuk had 28.2% of shares in the LLC, Gurenkov - 19.6%. Another co-owner of Fopipla with a 4% stake is Alexander Orlov.

According to Kaspersky Lab, the deal was a continuation of the strategy to diversify business and invest in promising IT areas.

Kaspersky Lab plans to sell software developed by ForPeople primarily in the Russian market, and in the future - to go international. ForPeople Development Director Joseph Parasyuk said that the partnership with Kaspersky Lab "will make it possible to contribute to the development of non-resource exports of Russia."

The systems offered by ForPeople allow large and medium-sized enterprises to increase business efficiency by digitalizing the organization's structure, managing staff and costs, processes and analytics, Kaspersky Lab noted[2]
